+Art Summary of 2012+

Hey there guys. Well, since the year is coming to an end in just 3 more days, I decided that this year, I would do an art summary meme since well, I have been drawing a lot this year compared to my previous years. So once I got my Hard drive back, I started pulling some of my favorite pictures of 2012 (and boy was it hard lol) and to share some thoughts on this year.

January: Nothing here as I was still in the midst of trying to jump back into drawing. I did a lot of sketches but none of them ever got finished at the time since they were fairly small doodles. They did however give me confidence that I could draw again with the right mindset in mind.

February: The beginning of my drawing explosion. This month, I was heavily into Biker Mice from Mars and so I decided to finally give a whack at trying to draw my OCs out. It was strange at the time since I have never drawn anthropomorphic mice but was very well pleased how they turned out, especially Duke (in the picture above). This was also the month where I officially changed my Fursona from a Lombax to a mouse. And also the spawning of my Super Mario OC, Klaww the Koopa.

March: Still was heavily into Biker Mice from Mars but also rekindled my love for the cartoon series Road Rovers and created my main OC for the show, Kito the Shikoku dog. Still doing fairly alright and experimented a bit more with canid/dog related anthros.

April: The birth of my beloved new original character, Gunther. I was always inspired by how some of my favorite artists here were able to create their own original designed characters and give them stories/backgrounds and I just wanted to create my own signature character. This was also the month where I started my "Underwear" seires with Spike being the opener.

May: Continuing on with my "Underwear" series and experimenting with more anthro characters with Gunter, Klaww, Kito, Duke, and Dusk the echidna. I personally think I was starting to improve a tiny bit with muscular meets cartoon style.

June: Still on with my underwear series. This time, with the exception of Drake the Lizark and Tygaar the Thundercat (as seen above), I focused my attention more with humans as I felt I needed to give them attention so I don't get rusty with them. This was the rebirth of my Kingdom Hearts OC Paku and my persona.

July: Underwear series continuing still but almost complete with it. Still experimenting with my humans and back to drawing anthros. I drew my mouse fursona more starting around this time just trying to get a feel for him.

August: This was the end of my Underwear series project with my Lombax fursona being the closer. Also was my first season picture of my Mouse fursona at the beach. Then was the start of my first fan art project with Crash Bandicoot Characters. For that project, I drew Crash, Coco, and Aku Aku as openers. I also started doing some memes.

September: This was the start of my first fan art project with Crash Bandicoot Characters. For that project, I drew Crash, Coco, Aku Aku, and Crunch as openers. Pretty much the good guys lol

October: Still continuing with the Crash Bandicoot fan art. This time around, I drew the popular villains which were Dr. Cortex, Dr. N-Gin, Tiny Tiger, and Nina Cortex. Also was the first time in a long while of doing pictures for the holiday; in this case, drawing out two pictures for Halloween. I was totally happy with how they turned out and I was starting to get a bit more comfortable with doing backgrounds.

November: Back to main priority of my Crash Bandicoot fan art project. I mostly drew the rest of the villains which were Uka Uka, Dr N-Tropy, Ripper Roo, Gorilla Kong, The Komodo Brothers, Pinstripe, and Dr. N-Brio. I also finally drew out my DeviantArt ID of my fursona in winter wear as well as a new avatar (It was long overdue lol).

December: And finally comes December. This month, I mostly started drawing my annual New Years Gifts for some people (I know I had my doubts in the beginning but I decided to go ahead and draw some gifts but just not as many as last years). So pretty much, I kind of put my Crash Bandicoot fan art project on hold until a few weeks ago. I don't want to spoil all the ones i did but in the picture I used, it's supposed to be Pura but in a WIP. A

And so yeah, all in all, 2012 was a very good year for me with art. I actually stuck to my resolution of drawing at least something every month (well excluding January xD). Even though I hardly got any feedback on my work, I'm still pleased with how each picture turned out and I am fairly proud of how this year went in terms of art. But boy does it feel like it went by fast. O_O Anyway, I'm looking forward to 2013 and I'm still chalk full of ideas for art. I'm definitely going to try working more on Gunther as well as finishing up my Crash Bandicoot fan art project so I can move on to another fan art project.
